German Gymnasium, as its name suggests, began life as a gym and was built in 1865 originally for the Germany Gymnastics Society. This fabulous building was Britain’s first purpose-built gym and was the location for the indoor events at the first London Olympic Games held in 1866. It was designed by Edward Gruning and the funding was provided solely from London’s German community.
The area of King’s Cross is an up-and-coming area of London in terms of new development and this glorious Grade II listed building has now been fully restored.
This venue space is incredibly versatile which includes a large outdoor terrace as well as restaurants and bars that makes it ideal for all types of event.
