ABOUT THE ARTS CLUB

Sleek, plush and with an elegant, sophisticated feel, the Arts Club was originally formed in the 1800s as a members’ only social club for those interested in arts, science and literature.

Built within the confines of an elegant 18th century townhouse in Dover Street, Mayfair, the Arts Club boasts an illustrious list of former members, including author and co-founder, Charles Dickens and artist, Auguste Rodin. HRH, The Duke of Edinburgh is a current patron.
The Arts Club was fully renovated in 2011 with design expertise from Stella McCartney adding a slick modern update and restoring the establishment to its former glory days. Rich mahogany leather, warm wood shades coupled with plush velveteen interior furnishings play for space alongside contemporary lighting installations – all against a backdrop of the Club’s coveted art collection. While the refurbished décor is both polished and glamorous, the Club retains its original intimate and high class ambience throughout the oyster bar, drawing room and basement club.

Six separate function rooms give vast potential to stage memorable personal and corporate events. The largest of these easily accommodates 200 guests, therefore ideal for seated dining for wedding receptions, birthday parties etc. The smaller event spaces, with a capacity of up to 12 guests, favour a more intimate corporate meeting place or family occasion.

Events by Knight has experience of liaising with the Arts Club to host special events. The venue is impeccable and sophisticated in every sense, from the wide range of exquisitely detailed rooms and suites of its luxury boutique hotel situated directly above the club, to the fine cuisine of co-owner and successful London restaurateur, Arjun Waney

The Arts Club lies in the salubrious Mayfair region of London’s West End, close to Green Park Underground station and exclusive shopping areas. Refined, suave and sophisticated, this is a perfect event space for lovers of the arts, science and literature, but would also appeal to historians and those seeking a classically elegant unique space.
