The Corinthia Hotel is a traditional, luxurious 5-star hotel and events venue in central London. The stored façade of the building on the corner of Whitehall Place is very grand and gives the wow factor to guests arriving before they even step inside.
The hotel was a former British Government building that was opened in 1885 and was called the Metropole Hotel. With its location being so close to the Palace of Westminster and the government offices in Whitehall, it was commandeered in both world wars. The Ministry of Defence bought the hotel after the Second World War and it was used as government offices until it was sold by Crown Estates in 2007. It was restored as a hotel and renamed the Corinthia Hotel and used as a combination of hotel and residential building.
