The Steel Yard, named to reflect the site’s original use as a mediaeval steelyard, has been extensively refurbished in the past few years and now offers a characterful venue featuring dramatic, yet graceful original Victorian railway arches and exposed brickwork. Add in an impressive mezzanine level, plus an imposing Victorian cargo hoist built into the ceiling, and the Steel Yard becomes a superbly atmospheric venue which offers over 3,000 square feet to work with.

Another delightful touch for a venue that’s steeped in history, is the in-situ track (where trains would be hauled into the space for maintenance) which also contributes towards the overall industrial vibe. Items associated with The Steel Yard and connected with its past adorn the walls and furnish the space, transforming this Central London location into a bright, vibrant and excitingly modern area. These unique features, in combination with excellent transport links have made The Steel Yard a popular venue for City based technology companies to stage networking events meetings, conferences and product launches.

The main space within The Steel Yard provides an attractive, yet versatile backdrop to create customised or theme-based events, thus making the venue ideal for hosting parties, dinners, product launches, exhibitions, conferences, award ceremonies and photoshoots. Although relatively new to the corporate scene, the Steel Yard has hosted memorable club nights for many years, proving its capacity to stage social events and personal celebrations.

Up to the minute sound and lighting effects are available to complement themes or add panache to any event. With more than 40 LED down-lighters able to create colour co-ordinated backdrops and an 18 fixture moving head lighting rig, the Steel Yard easily adapts to provide appropriate atmospheric ambience geared to enhance any type of event.

The venue also offers two large, permanent bars – the City Bar serves food and drink in a relaxed environment, whilst the events space bar provides a fast, efficient service. There’s also plenty of space for additional pop-up bars if required with a licence to hold events up to 1.00am. However, this can be extended as the venue is not situated in a residential area and therefore noise restriction regulations do not apply.

The Steel Yard is a short walk from Cannon Street Station, which is one of the termini for the South Eastern main line and also incorporates Underground platforms on the Circle and District lines. The interlinked Bank and Monument tube stations are within easy walking distance and serve the Central, Northern and Waterloo and City lines, plus the Docklands Light Railway.
